When you are reviewing photos in iOS 8, you will notice there is now a “heart” in the bottom center of the screen.
Simply press the “heart” icon to fill it up. The photo will automatically post to a “Favorites” album that is built into iOS 8 and will be organized by shoot date. Easily find a photo from any app.
